When you think of the classic summer jobs for young adults, things like lifeguarding, scooping ice cream, or mowing lawns might come to mind. (And honestly don’t sound half bad.) But then you grow up, and there’s no such thing as summer vacation, and your summer job is also your fall job, winter job, and spring job.
If you’re looking for a summer job that’s more about chilling than Zooming, you may be interested in a few new positions that have recently opened up, and pay $5,000 for minimal work. Here’s what to know.
In this case, the “employer” is Coors Light, and they are “hiring” people to take on four types of “jobs” that are actually fun summer activities that you’re probably doing (or want to do) anyway. The job titles of the available roles are:
- Beer Bouncer
- Hammock Mechanic
- Backyard Lifeguard
According to Thrillist, four new employees are sought in Denver, and one in each of the following locations:
- The Jersey Shore
- New York
- Lincoln, Nebraska
The official rules of the contest say that each winner/new employee will receive $5,000 for their services (although it doesn’t stipulate exactly what they involve, nor the time commitment required).
The rules also say that a total of four prizes will be awarded, totaling $20,000, and never mention any of the information provided by Thrillist on the different job locations, and what adds to up a total of nine positions. So that part’s a little confusing. But if nothing else, you know that there will be at least four winners.
To be considered for these positions, write a short description (300 words, max) on why you should get paid to chill this summer, and email it, along with your state of residence and age to firstname.lastname@example.org by 11:59 p.m. CT on July 12.
